We are proud of our position as the UK’s number one whisky distributor, with an award-winning portfolio of home-grown and imported single malts and blends, as well as an enviable range of spirits.

At the heart of this is our team of brand ambassadors who travel the country training and educating our customers on the history of our portfolio, the industry as a whole and how to create the perfect serves.

Our brand ambassadors are passionate about our bringing the whisky and spirits category to life through expertly mixed drinks and a rich level of specialism, which continue to introduce our brands to a whole new audience.

Together our brand ambassadors cover all areas of our premium portfolio - from Scotch whisky and American bourbon to mixables and Japanese craft spirits.

The Whisky Specialists

The Whisky Specialists are central to our position as experts in the whisky and spirits industry. With over 70 years' collective experience of premium bartending, the team dedicates its time to supporting our customers by training bar staff on how to create and serve the perfect mixed drinks, as well as educating them on our extensive brand portfolio and the history of the whisky and spirits industry. 

In 2018/19, the team delivered almost 750 training courses to over 8500 bar tenders, educating our customers on our brands and the whisky and spirits category.


David Sinclair, The Macallan

Through his career David has represented some of the world’s most iconic whisky brands. As an award-winning bar manager with more than 20 years hospitality experience in some of the world's most luxurious hotels, it was in these bars where David's passion grew as the custodian of some of the world’s rarest whiskies.

David is also a “Keeper Of The Quaich" - an exclusive and international society that recognises individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the Scottish whisky industry. From growing up beside a distillery to hosting the world’s elite, David has an unrivalled experience when it comes to creating once in a lifetime, bespoke experiences.

Amanda Humphrey, Maker's Mark

Amanda has over sixteen years of experience within the drinks industry, having started as a bartender before moving on to managing renowned London bars. She joined our Whisky Specialists team in January 2013, where she worked on our extensive world whisky portfolio. Recognised throughout the industry as one of the most outstanding and knowledgeable brand and category trainers there is, Amanda is passionate about education and has set-up grass roots training academies and awards such as The Rookie Programme and the Imbibe Drinks List of the Year. She has loved Maker’s Mark since her early days behind the bar and is thrilled to now be working solely on the brand, spearheading programmes such as ‘The Makers’ workshops, trade activation and the UK launch of the Maker’s Mark Private Select.

James Bowker, House of Suntory

An experienced and talented mixologist, James cut his cocktail-making teeth at The Jekyll and Hyde in Birmingham. Following a five-year stint as head bartender at The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel, where he curated an impressive selection of Japanese whiskies, James took an opportunity to move to Japan to indulge his love for the culture. Whilst apprenticing at the famous Bar High Five in Tokyo, he developed his knowledge of local cocktail techniques and craft spirits and on his return to the UK, set up two leading venues in his home city of Birmingham, both showcasing Japanese-influenced food and drinks.

Now our House of Suntory brand ambassador, James drives and inspires passion for our premium Japanese portfolio among our customers, creating bespoke experiences to best showcase the brands' potential and ever-growing consumer appeal. 


Jamie Campbell, Bols

With a long background in cocktail bartending and consultancy, Jamie has spent several years working with luxury spirit portfolios as a brand ambassador and sales executive. Drawing upon his experiences across all departments and sectors of the industry, he has a strong passion for growing and developing brand identities using his culinary and cocktail skills to create an engaging environment.

Jamie performs a dual function role as our Bols Brand Experience Manager, responsible for both creating innovative plans for our liqueurs, Genever and Galliano ranges and for educating our consumers and customers through exciting and experiential training.
